Story of the Cyborg and the Technician (Chapter 2)

PART 1

Seven: *with a different voice* So, this is the new me...
D3: Yeah... I built you a new foot, an ear, and i fixed your vocal cords. But I don't know what they looked like before, so I repaired what looked broken. Does it sound okay?
Seven: *says a couple of random words, then nods* yeah, I sound fine.
D3: good. *looks at his throat* Uhh...that looks kinda weird...I should probably go find something to cover your throat. I can see all the metal.
Seven: Okay...how about a scarf?
D3: yeah, that'll work. *goes off to look in the dump* *5 minutes later* Hey, i found one!
Seven: bring it over here.
D3: *walks over to him, he is holding a dirty, long and puffy light grey scarf* how does this look?
Seven: great. I'll wash it.
D3: ...when did you find water?
Seven: nowhere. I'll go look for some.
D3: uh....okay. Be careful.
Seven: *nods and finds a bucket of half-clean water* this will be fine. *washes the scarf in the water, then wrings it out when he's done* *He goes back to D3*
D3: *looks at him and smiles*
Seven: *smiles back, then sighs* I guess we should look for civilization.
D3: *deep breath, then lets it out* yeah, i guess so. *looks over at his "tools"* I guess ill go pack those. You don't have to bring anything but the scarf.
Seven: *nods, then goes and quietly looks around* *thinks* Im sure I can bring something.... *goes through a dumpster pile, he finds the caboose of what was once a toy train set* *He picks it up* huh? a...t-train....*tears up when he remembers the day before* *He shuts his eyes and grips the toy* I won't let myself forget....



PART 2

D3: *finishes packing his small blue tool box, he closes it and picks it up* okay Seven, you ready to go?
Seven: *holding the toy caboose* yeah.... I'm ready.
D3: *looks at the toy* huh? Why are you holding a.... *his eyes become a little wider, he stands there in shock* a.... *his eyes become teary*
Seven: *smiles and gets a little teary too, he goes to D3, hugs him and rubs his head* It's okay D3.
D3: *stays still, then grips Seven, tears building and flowing down his cheeks* I don't wanna do this alone Seven! I want Mom and Dad!
Seven: *pulls himself back and looks down at him* We'll always have them in our hearts D3. But right now, you have me. And I have you.
D3: *wipes his eye and looks up at him, then looks back down* but you don't need me...
Seven: Yes i do. You saved my life D3. And I'll be here to protect you. We'll be a family, and we'll get through life. Together. I promise.
D3: *looks back up at Seven again* Promise?
Seven: *smiles* yeah. Promise.
D3: *smiles too* okay, then... I promise too! I won't leave you either! We'll be a family!
Seven: *chuckles* yep. Family.
*they both laugh for a while*
Seven: *stops* okay D3, you ready to go?
D3: yep, ready.
Seven: *deep breath* okay buddy, let's go.

*Seven and D3 both walk side by side in search of civilization*
